_at the university I had participated several design subjects, each with various topics_
|
_every subject was held by different departments to wide the perspective of students until the 6th semester _ thus they get to know easily all building types through the eyes of responsible designers at those departments__ _after the first period of acquaintance, students can choose a department and a consultant for the last two years _ the last designs are planned more and more in detail with connecting disciplines such us mechanics, electrics, and construction_ |
_1.semester _ space composition
_an entertainment for the ever first design processes _ there are 6 tasks each with an own purpose to teach for the students _ at first frame is experienced (usually a cube with strict measures e.g. 12x12x12 cm), then commonly used concepts such as shadow and light, music, and plasticity are given to realize within the frame, however, they are new for a freshman_ |

_location: Rákosrendező Railway station, Budapest _co-worker: Lipők Zoltán _consultant: Pálfy Sándor _campus for Szent István University (SZIE) _ originally, there was no subject just the land which was divided by the rails _ the students had to figure out a theme which was suitable into this environment _ SZIE is located at the edge of the design boundary, though it has never had an university campus _ students and teachers of SZIE expressed their demand for a ground dedicated to SZIE linked to the building therefore the purpose was found _ the solution was a campus committed to SZIE with enough space to include all of its institution, educational centers and college facilities _ the campus links the two sides of the rail and it covers the railway station as a quilt _ thus the station’s operation is steady while the sites are linked together and both are used by the students of university_ |

_location: Aszód, Hungary _consultant: Tamás Mezős _revitalization and renovation of Aszód’s Castle of Podmaniczky into a mental health center _ due to its name, this department prefers designing projects linked to some monument or historical side _ Aszód’s Castle of Podmaniczky were perfectly adequate because of its history started from XVIIth century, although its dimensions exceeded far beyond the expectations _ the Castle has had difficult times with vicissitudes through its owners in the latest decades _ now it is an abandoned ruin with no purpose at all _ as a result of Aszód’s other institutes such as a prison, a detention center for young adults, and a prominent high school among others, the complex design was dedicated to a social cause more precisely to help people’s mental health _ consequently, the design program contained a mental hygiene center with a research facility for the Psychology Department of ELTE_ _the complex design covers two semesters from which the second is committed to a part of the original design to be detailed _ fortunately, it was easy to specify and separate just one unit because of the historical extensions and structure of the Castle _ the specified item was the last built wing devoted to be a retirement house _ the renovation part had to solve the impaired and endangered conditions and natural circumstances while the revitalization part needed to create an environment for old people as modern enough to serve every contemporary necessity as comfortable and pleasant to help inhabitants to enjoy themselves_ |
_10. semester _ final design
_location: Csobáncz, Balaton, Hungary _consultant: Tamás Mezős _revitalization and partial reconstruction of Csobancz’s historical area _ the ruins of Csobáncz’s Castle are ones of the finest showpieces near Lake Balaton _ both the landscape and the area carry the nearly individual perfect combinations of historical, natural, and geological values _ furthermore, the residents of this region represent almost inimitable principles with their responsible, persistent, and caring behavior for the ruins and the history of Csobáncz _as a preparation to the designing process the area was searched physically (more site visits, taking pictures on and above the terrain), and historically (history and research history) _ moreover, the current situation and the imaginations for the future were asked from the enthusiastic, supportive and thoughtful citizens _ these information and experiences were considered and accommodated_ _the final design includes the whole historical area of Csobáncz which means the ruins of the Castle at the top of the hill and with 100 meters below the only remaining piece of Csobáncz’s town, a church called as Rossztemplom_ _the final design is attempting to solve the partial mass reconstruction of the castle’s ruins – to partially complete it with light, soft and sensitive elements and the feeling of reversibility yet conserve and present the current conditions _ in addition, the environment of Rossztemplom is renewed and provided with the necessary equipment of contemporary demands_ |
