_in this week, we managed a lot of things due to the move _ Ben handled the utility providers and received the ordered stuff _ the fridge arrived just at the third attempt, but then, they wanted Ben to have 2 fridges 😀 _ he did not sign up for that, send them away because we already have one which is working and this stays with us, the other should be handled by anyone except him _ according to him, he already is sorrow for his decision, because two fridges are always better than just one (not that we have already used this up to its potential, but it is just a matter of time) _ the Ikea delivered their own stuff quite well, but their subcontractor delivered during 4 days the left items, which was fine, we legoed with the others (this is how we have now bed, tables and chairs) _ the only one is still missing and ESSENTIAL to have is the internet _ it is somehow ironic that everything else can be done sooner than the internet is itself arriving to the apartment (we even have the modem itself, it is working, only a man is missing who comes to us, and switches a button on at an online platform to allow us to have internet…) _ Ben is outstandingly handling these situations, helped the delivery guys, talked with everyone, argued with everyone needed to be argued with, and convinced the internet provider how about they come earlier 😀 _ so soon, we will really feel home _ obviously, this does not mean we won’t have any newer and newer ideas_

_our Christmas preparation is basically about the making the apartment more comfortable and home and we are managing the gifts for each other _ the Christmas feeling is missing, the weather is weird somehow 😀 _ although there is no heat, but the cold, dark and the little depressive atmosphere is missing to have the real Christmas feeling _ putting the jokes aside, the absence of dark, soft, foggy, cold weather stops us to really feel Christmas not just to know, but that is how life works _ soon we will swim in the ocean, that will make it up for us_

_on Tuesday, we had our usual meeting with the PhD Fellowship – fewer people than usual but still good _ Sharmini’s presentation was again getting feedback (it was done on Friday marvellously so it was worth it), and then we talked about the next meeting which will be our Christmas party _ in addition, we talked about Jaime’s experiment because she needed human labrats I singed up immediately (obviously) to help her – not to worry, she will just poke me with some sensors 😀 she wants to test her sensors using to test surgents whether they are working properly _ fortunately, others said as well they are willing to work, so I won’t be the only one_

_on Thursday, Jeni had an other talk at MPavilion, an outside venue under a roof – meaning no walls _ this is not so useful when there is wind but at least the rain does not fall onto you _ unusually, the weather was good, at least no rain and some sunshine (although cold temperature) _ not everyone sit inside the pavilion under the roof, some stayed outside on the sunshine, Jeni agreed them saying she would suggest to everyone sitting like they can see the screens but she would never suggest to come inside from the sun because that can be awesome _ the presentation was interesting: Jeni talked about the future cities, Flavia (Jeni’s co-worker and Ian’s wife) talked about the town planning history (and how we are doomed to commit the same mistakes again and again), and Dan (Jeni’s co-worker) talked about futuristic movies influencing the technology and town planning industry – he told us that the Minority Report (Spielberg) gave ideas to many start up companies to work on (self-driving cars, touch screens etc.) _ at the end, Jeni put many prospects into my hand to hand them out and then told everyone to here is my PhD student she has some more information look for her _ thus everyone knew I was there 😀 _ but this was great because in this way I met a Swedish guy researching something about smart cities at another university _ it was interesting to meet again new people_

_however, just to have sense of Christmas, after Jeni’s presentation, Manow and I went to the Federation Square and wandered around for a while _ then on the stage, a choir started to sing, very well, so we listened to them _ many-many Christmas songs (I know, it is shocking) were sung and the choir leader was quite skilful involving the audience, he even danced with the little children _ on the square, a huge Christmas tree was erected  very sustainably and environmentally friendly – not cutting out a huge tree, but building it up as the pictures show, and the tree and the square are decorated with huge ornaments _ 5 meters away from the tree, there was a Santa – it was hilarious to see people really queuing up to meet and speak with him (no, not only in movies, they do it in real life)_

_yesterday, we decided we deserve after an active week a very non active weekend watching two movies at the cinema almost in one sitting _ we watched the Charlie’s Angels and Ford v. Ferrari – Ben’s revenge for Frozen 2 _ however, it was not really a revenge, because I enjoyed them both (maybe I don’t want to see them again, but for watching once they were great) _ between the two movie, we had some time, and we were captured in the shopping centre by a Santa  preparing to photoshoot _ he spotted me as I was taking pictures of him outside of his environment, and so he walked and climbed through the whole thing to us to have a together picture with him not just like through some stuff _ he was really nice with us and with the children (no assumptions from this event!!), even with the shy one ha managed to play a little _ so we have met Santa 😀 _

_right now, after the mess, I am at Manow, since we have not had a washing machine be her house does 😀 _ fortunately the wash is already done, now I am waiting for the drying _ before anyone would panic, we are planning to buy a washing machine, but since we can manage this in a good way (and Manow was kind enough to be happy to help us), this was not a huge priority before Christmas and right after move _ thus I have time to write the blog and even finish it while the laundry is done _ additional plans are decorating the tree, baking cookies, cooking dinner by Ben and the eating it  together, so a calm but working evening_

_a héten az átköltözés miatt egy csomó mindent intézgettünk _ Bence elintézte a szolgáltatókat, meg átvette a megrendelt dolgokat _ a hűtőnk 3. Próbálkozásra érkezett csak meg, de akkor azért megpróbáltak Bencének 2 hűtőt is behozni 😀 _ nem használta ki, elküldte őket, hogy már van egy, ami működik, és ez itt is marad, a másikkal meg bárki csinálhat bármit _ saját bevallása szerint ezt már bánja, hisz két hűtő mindig jobb mint egy (nem mintha, ezt az egyet egyelőre rendesen kihasználtuk volna, de csak idő kérdése) _ az Ikeások meg egészen rendesen hozták a saját cuccaikat, egy alvállalkozó kiszállítójuk tolta 4 napon keresztül a kiszállítást, de addig ellegóztunk a többivel (így lett ágyunk, asztalunk és székünk) _ az egyetlen ami még mindig hiányzik és LÉTFONTOSSÁGÚ, az az internet _ valahogy ironikus, hogy mindent hamarabb el lehet intézni, mint hogy az internet maga megérkezzen a lakásba (már a modem is megvan, minden megy, csak egy embernek ki kell jönnie, hogy egy internetes rendszeren keresztül bekapcsolja nekünk a netet…) _ de Bence fantasztikusan helyt állt, pakolt a szállítókkal, jófejkedett mindenkivel, veszekedett akivel kellett, és meggyőzte amúgy az interneteseket, hogy mi lenne ha hamarabb jönnének 😀 _ szóval lassan tényleg be leszünk rendezkedve _ persze ez nem jelenti azt, hogy nem lesznek mindig újabb és újabb ötleteink_

_a mi karácsonyi készülődésünk amúgy nagyjából a lakás csinosításából áll, meg egymásnak intézzük az ajándékokat _ a karácsonyi hangulat annyira nincs meg, valahogy az idő fura hozzá 😀 _ ugyan nincs meleg, de hiányzik a hideg, meg a sötét, meg a kissé depresszív hangulat, hogy a karácsony érzése meglegyen _ viccet félretéve, a sötét, puha, ködös, hideg idő hiánya tényleg kissé megakadályozza, hogy érezzük is karácsonyt, ne csak tudjuk, de hát ez ilyen _ lassan úszunk majd az óceánban, az majd kárpótol minket_

_kedden megvolt a szokásos PhD bandázás – kicsit kevesen voltunk, de amúgy jó volt _ Sharmini előadását finomítgattuk (az előadás pénteken meg is történt, szuper volt, úgyhogy megérte segíteni), majd a következő bandázásról beszélgettünk, ami ugye a karácsonyi partink lesz _ illetve még beszélgettünk Jaime kutatásáról, mert szüksége van emberi kísérleti alanyokra, amire persze azonnal jelentkeztem, segíteni neki – de nem kell aggódni, csak szenzorokkal fog bökdösni 😀 le akarja tesztelni, hogy a saját szenzorai jól működnek, amivel vizsgálja a saját orvosait _ szerencsére mások is mondták, hogy szívesen segítenek, így nem csak velem fogja ezt eljátszani_

_csütörtökön Jeni tartott megint egy előadást az MPavilionban, ami egy kültéri eseményhelyszín egy tető alatt – értsd, nincsenek falak _ ez kevésbé hasznos, amikor fúj a szél, de legalább az eső csak becsap, nem esik rád _ kivételesen jó idő volt, vagyis nem esett az eső, meg még a nap is sütött (viszont hideg volt) _ nem mindenki ült be a pavilon alá, voltak akik kinn maradtak a napsütésen, Jeni meg is jegyezte, hogy bár javasolná mindenkinek, hogy helyezkedjen úgy, hogy lássa a prezentációt, senkit nem kér, hogy jöjjön be a napról, mert az ott nagyon jó lehet _ a beszélgetés amúgy érdekes volt: Jeni beszélt a jövő városairól, Flavia (Jeni munkatársa, és Ian felesége) beszélt a várostervezés történelméről (és hogy mennyire nem fog ez javulni sosem), és Dan (Jeni munkatársa) beszélt arról, hogy a futurisztikus filmek hogyan befolyásolták a technika és a várostervezés folyamatát – elmesélte pl hogy a Különvélemény nagyon sok start up cégnek adott ötletet, hogy mivel foglalkozzanak (pl önvezető autók, érintő képernyők, stbstb) _ a végén Jeni a kezembe nyomott egy adag prospektust, hogy osztogassam szét a hallgatóságban, majd szólt, hogy a PhDsánál, nálam lehet ilyeneket kapni _ így mindenki megtudta, hogy ott vagyok 😀 _ de ez jó volt, mert megismerkedtem egy svéd sráccal, Alberttel, aki okos városokkal kapcsolatban csinál egy rövidebb kutatást egy másik egyetemen _ érdekes volt találkozni megint ennyi új emberrel_

_de azért, hogy egy kicsit legyen karácsony, Jeni kültéri előadása után elmentünk Manow-val a központi térre (Federation Square) és bolyongtunk egy kis időt _ aztán a színpadon elkezdett énekelni egy kórus, nagyon szépen, amit meg is hallgattunk _ csupacsupa karácsonyi dalt énekeltek (tudomtudom, rettenet meglepő…) és a kórusvezető egész ügyesen húzta be a hallgatóságot is az éneklésbe, a kisgyerekekkel meg még táncikált is _ a téren amúgy felhúztak egy naaagy karácsonyfát, nagyon környezettudatosan – nem kivágtak egy hatalmas fát, hanem összerakták, a képeken látszik, meg hatalmas díszekkel teleszórták a fát is meg a teret is _ a fától kb 5 méterre meg a Mikulással is lehetett találkozni – nagyon vicces volt nézni, ahogy az emberek tényleg sorban állnak, hogy beszélhessenek vele (nem, nem csak a filmekben állítják be az embereket, színészeket sorba, hanem valóban maguktól is sorba állnak)_

_tegnap megfejeltük a teljes hetet két mozival majdnem egyhelyben _ megnéztük a Charlie Angyalai új verzióját meg a Ford v. Ferrarit – Bence bosszúi a Jégvarázs2-ért _ de nem igazán voltak bosszúk, mert én élveztem ezeket (nem biztos, hogy megnézném őket újra, de amúgy jók voltak) _ viszont a két mozi között volt egy kis időnk, és ekkor elkapott minket egy Mikulás, aki épp fotózásra készült a plázában _ látta, hogy lefényképezem kívülről, erre kimászott a barikádon keresztül, hogy legyen vele fényképünk, nem csak úgy ám mindenkin keresztül _ nagyon kedves volt, velünk is, meg a gyerekekkel is (nem vonunk le semmiféle messzemenő következtetést innen!!!), még a félősekkel is tudott jól játszani _ szóval mi találkoztunk a Mikulással :D_

_most pedig épp Manow-nál partizom a mise után, merthogy még nincs mosógépünk, de nála van 😀 _ szerencsére, a mosás már lement, épp a szárító programot várom, hogy az is lemenjen _ mielőtt bárki pánikolna, tervezünk venni egy mosógépet, de mivel ezt így meg tudtuk oldani (Manow nagyon kedvesen örül, hogy segíthet), ez nem volt első prioritás karácsony előtt, hogy még ezt is elintézzük _ így van időm megírni a blogot is, meg még be is fejezem, mire lejár az egész _ aztán lesz még fadíszítés, sütisütés, vacsi főzés Bence által meg evészet együtt, nyugis, de azért dolgos este_
