_the week started quite ordinary, the weather was back to changing and springy, at least, Melbourne people said it is quite normal to start the walk in sunshine, then walk a little in rain shower and then arrive again in sunshine although with a strong wind _ just like Mary Poppins!!! oooo, I can be Mary Poppins _ that is just coool (though I cannot decide which Mary Poppins want to turn into, Julie Andrews or Emily Blunt…)_

_anyway_

_so the company where Ben was at a try-out-day approached him again _ but this time, they were prepared, because they offered the position and the tasks what Ben suggested them last time to do so to have him _ quite funny and interesting _ but that means (at least for me), that he was very sympathetic for them and they want him sooooo badly _ Ben haven’t decided yet because he is still waiting on the exact description of the position _ however, this means that he definitely has a place in here, which I am very happy about it_

_we had again a lot of lectures this week, with Manow _ I mean three _ on Tuesday we went together to an EndNote class, which help us to reference as well as it is possible with a Microsoft product (I have my issues with EndNote, but up until now noone could recommend me a better referencing database to have and in Swinburne they support this, not Mendeley) _ I asked about Mendeley but the lady from support staff of EndNote said smiling, that Mendeley is just the facebook of referencing, more social than scientific _ I don’t know what else was I waiting for _ so I am stuck with EndNote until I start using LaTex_

_on Wednesday, I had my meeting with Jeni and Ian, and I asked them both whether they need my vote on any election during this school year (as a PhD student I am allowed to participate in the election for staff representation at the university’s senate and God knows where else…) _ they both looked at me like what the heck I am talking about _ when I explained they said that I know better what is happening in here than them, but that is because I read my emails _ I agreed with them, because exactly that is why I know what is happening _ then, while Jeni and I talked about my previously sent written summary for the first official review, Ian read it through, so then we could start to talk about it _ it is really good to talk to them, because they can go really various ways I could have never thought of thus a lot of new perspectives open for me (but yeah, I know, I shouldn’t be so surprised, they are my supervisors, or what…) _ but anyway, these many directions I must chose from are a little further away, because basically for the first year my path is pretty clear: read through everything you can find about the topic _ this is called literature review, and the aim is here that I should be the smartass of my topic and won’t be able to talk about anything else _ okay, this is not the aim but the result, but yeah, I am doing this for about a month really, and I could talk about it for ages, what will happen at the end… _

_moving forward, at the end of the meeting, Jeni asked me where I am sitting during the days, and I showed them: a desk at a public space of their floor, next to a window, quite open and anyone can use it not just me _ they were a little outraged that I still don’t have my own place so they basically grabbed my hand and we went through 3 levels looking into the offices to find a clear desk for me _ they have found one in the office of School of Design Staff Area, and told me to sit there and if anyone dares to ask me why I am sitting there just tell them they told me so _ so for a magical half of a day I had a place _ next day, the administrator kindly asked me to move out because it is a staff area _ it doesn’t matter that the staff don’t want to share the air with a student, I neither want to sit with them because Manow couldn’t come with me, so that was a short but magical moment _ I am looking forward to have my own place but, to be honest, this open space with the view is really nice, not quiet but nice_

_on Thursday and Friday we had again classes, first a Turbocharge your Writing class which was pretty good to have in the beginning of our PhD (not everyone was so fortunate, there was a lady who is in the finish right now, she said this would have been really useful for her in the beginning), and we had an obligatory lecture for our core unit where we meet with the other PhD students _ the core electives have their own aim but I think every student goes to these workshops just to meet with the other students _ here, they say, the PhD study is really isolating so many students grabs on the opportunity to see others _ we have seen already familiar faces, and at the end one of the student wanted to have something more structured meetings for not just once every month _ his name is Nick and he is in his fifties researching how the Australian market can respond to international companies, or something along those lines _ so at the end I proposed Nick to have our own meetings every second week and he was out of his mind, in a gentleman like way_

_on Friday, I went to Altona again to teach violin already _ the way there was a bit bumpy, because I don’t really tend to read the stations for a train, just hop on the good direction _ yeah, that is not a good thing to do in here _ obviously, the good direction train didn’t stop at the station I needed to get off, so I went a little further and then back again _ fortunately, I always calculate buffer time for such accidents, so at least I wasn’t late _ Kinga is very skillful and concerning her beginner status, her progress was great _ her smallest boy of four children was with us, Peter, and he was adorable although not really helping us to play the violin, but it was quite okay to ask him to make a crocodile from playdoh _ after the lesson, they brought me to the station and Peter helped me to open the train’s door because he pushed the button just at the right place at the right time _ he was really cute and he wanted to ride the train with me, but they went to the library instead _ and Altona is still beautiful, so I convinced Ben to accompany me next time to have our Friday evening next to the bay_

_yesterday, we went to swim a little and then went to the sauna _ one of the best things that I am allowed to go to some of the swimming pools free of charge, so we just used this opportunity and tried out the first swimming pool _ it was full of children and retired, comfortable swimming people, but for a start it was good_

_today, I went to the church which was FULL of children, they were dancing and singing and reading, it was amazing _ in the afternoon, we went to meet my late friend Amélie _ she and her family was really kind and nice back in 2005 to host me for 2 months in Germany, because my parents’ great German friend, Wolfgang asked them to _ my family wanted me to practice German and have my language exam soon, so the best way to prepare for it is in a native area _ Amélie is around my age so she was to chosen one to accompany me those days _ she did it really great back then but then we lost contact _ however, Wolfgang realized that now we are at the same place so he notified both of us _ thus we met today _ it was great to see her again, we went for a coffee and talked for an hour, then she had to leave _ she is playing footsaal and she had a game on, but we agreed that next time she will let us know and we will go to cheer her: we will be her cheerleader group with Ben, very diverse but very enthusiastic_

_a hét egészen átlagosan kezdődött, az időjárás visszaállt a változékony tavaszias, bár a melbourneiek szerint egészen normális állapotába, vagyis elkezded a sétát gyönyörű napsütésben, majd gyenge zivataron átmenve újra napsütésbe érkezel erős széllel (majd leviszi a fejedet) _ ooo, mint Mary Poppins!!!! még lehetek Mary Poppins _ ez király (bár nem tudom eldönteni, hogy Julie Andrews vagy Emily Blunt Mary Poppinsa szeretnék lenni…)_

_szóval a cég, akiknél Bence már volt egy próbanapon újra megkeresték őt _ de most fel voltak készülve, mert egy olyan pozíciót ajánlottak neki, amit a múltkor Bence mondott, hogy tudna szívesen csinálni _ elég vicces és érdekes _ dde ez legalább azt jelenti, (legalábbis számomra), hogy nagyon szimpatikus volt nekik és nagyon akarják, hogy velük dolgozzon _ Bence még nme döntötte el, többek között azért sem, mert még nem küldték meg a pontos leírást – de szóval ez azt jelenti, hogy tényleg keresik itt is azt amit ő csinál, és ennek nagyon örülök_

_Manowval megint egy rakat óránk volt _ mármint 3 _ kedden elmentünk egy EndNote kurzusra hogy nagyon megtanuljunk nagyon jól forrásmegjelölést gyártani a lehető legjobban, amennyire csak lehet egy Microsoft programmal (vannak ezzel problémáim, de eddig senki em tudott jobbat ajánlani ennél és Swinburne támogatja a használatát, jobban, mint a Mendeleyét) _ megkérdeztem az EndNote oktató nénit a Mendeleyről, mire kedvesen mosolyogva mondta, hogy a Mendeley csak a facebookja a forrásmegjelölésnek, inkább közösségibb mint tudományos _ mondjuk nme tudom, mi mást vártam _ tehát most egy ideig ezt fogom használni, amíg át nem állok LaTexre_

_szerdán megvolt a szokáson egyeztetésünk Jenivel és Iannel, és megkérdeztem mind a kettőt, hogy szükségük van-e a választásban az én szavazatomra (igen, itt is választások zajlanak, csak egyetemiek, és mint PhDs szavazhatok az indulókra az egyetemi szenátusba, meg mindenhova is) _ mind a ketten néztek rám, hogy mi a túróról beszélek _ amikor elmagyaráztam nekik, azt mondták, hogy jobban tudom, hogy mi történik az egyetemn, mint ők _ aztán, amíg Jenivel beszélgettünk az előre megküldött összefoglalómról (az első megmérettetésre készülvén), Ian is elolvasta, és utána már érdemben is tudtunk róla hármasban beszélgetni _ szeretek velük beszélgetni a témáról, mert nagyon egyedi utakon tudnak elindulni a gondolataikkal, olyan utakra, amikre én nem is gondoltam és így új perspektívákat nyitnak meg nekem (de persze, tudom, nem kéne ennyire meglepődve legyek, elvégre, ők a témavezetőim, vagy mi…) _ de szóval ezek az irányok, amik közül majd választanom kell, még egy csöppet odébb vannak, az első év útja teljesen tiszta kb: olvassak el mindent is, ami kapcsolódik a témához _ ez az irodalom áttekintés (?) fázisa, amikoris az a cél, hogy az okostojása legyek a témának és ne tudjak semmi másról beszélni _ na jó, ez talán nem a célja, de valószínűleg a követekezménye lesz, mert még csak egy hónapja csinálom, és már most órákat tudok róla beszélni, mi lesz itt a végén…_

_node, az egyeztetés végén Jeni megkérdezte, hogy hol ülök mégis napközben, úgyhogy megmutattam nekik: az ő emeletükön van egy közösségi tér sok asztallal meg székkel, amit mindenki használhat, és itt szoktam nap mint nap üldögélni _ kissé felháborodtak hogy még mindig nincs meg a végleges helyem úgyhogy nagyjából a hónuk alá csaptak és végigcsattogtunk 3 emeleten, minden irodába benyitva, hogy hol van üres asztal nekem _ a végén találtak egy helyet a School of Design munkatársai között, és mondták, hogy akkor maradjak ott, és ha bárki emg meri kérdezni, hogy mégis mi a tököt csinálok ott, akkor mondjam, hogy ők mondták _ így egy csodás fél napig volt helyem _ a következő nap az adminisztrátor kedvesen megkért, hogy talán menjek ki innen mert ez dolgozói terület _ nem is baj, hogy a dolgozók nem akarnak egy levegőt szívni a diákokkal, amúgy sem akartam volna ott maradni, mert Manow nem tudott volna velem jönni, úgyhogy ez egy rövid csodás hely volt _ már várom, hogy legyen végleges helyem, de azt azért el kell ismerni, hogy a mostani ideiglenes helyem nagyon szép kilátással rendelkezik, bár nem csöndes, de nagyon szép_

_csütörtökön és pénteken megint voltak óráink, a csütörtöki egy Turbózd Meg az Írásodat volt, ami nekünk nagyon hasznos volt a PhD elején (nem mindenki az elején volt, volt egy hölgy, aki már a finisben van az egésszel, és most tudta ezt meghallgatni, mondta is, hogy mennyire hasznos lett volna ez nekii az elején is már), és pénteken pedig kötelező workshop volt a törzs óránkhoz ahol a többi PhDsal tudunk találkozni _ azt hiszem, hogy magának a tárgnyak nem ez a célja, de nagyjából midnen diák azért jár ezekre a workshopokra, mert jó találkozni más PhDsokkal is a PhD elszigetelt folytatása közben _ már most találkoztunk ismerősökkel és a workshop végén egy PhDs akart volna valami strukturáltabb verziót a találkozóknak, nem csak ezt a havi egyszeri összefutást _ Nicknek hívják, az ötvenes éveimben jár, és az ausztrál piaci megoldások felkészítését kutatja a nemzetközi cégekkel szemben, vagy valami ilyesmi _ szóval volt egy javaslatom Nick felé, hogy akkor szervezzük/em meg a kétheti találkákat, és majdnem kiugrott a bőréből, csak hát úriemberek nem ugrálnak ki acsak úgy a bőrükből_

_pénteken menten hegedűt oktatni Altonába is már _ az odaút egy kicsit rizikósra sikeredett, mert nem igazán szoktam elolvasni a menetrendet, csak felugrok a jó irányba menő vonatra _ nos, ez nem egy jó taktika itt… _ terméseztesen a jó irányba tartó vonat nem állt meg a kellő állomáson, így volt egy fölös 10 perces vonatozásom visszafelé _ szerencsére készülök saját magamra, emg az ilyen esetekre tartalékidővel, így el sem késtem _ Kinga nagyon ügyes, főleg ha tekintetbe vesszük, hogy még csak kezdő, nagyon jól halad _ a legkisebb fiuk a négy gyermek közül otthon volt vele, Peti, aki egy tündéri kis mackó, de nagyon nem segíti a hegedű leckéket, bár még így is tök jó volt, néha megkértük, hogy csináljon krokodilt gyurmából, vagy másszon ki a konyhai szekrényből _ az óra után elvittek az állomásra és Peti segített felszálljak a vonatra, mert ő nyitotta ki az ajtót jó időben jó helyen megnyomva a gombot _ nagyon cuki volt – mondta, hogy ő is akar vonatozni, de inkább mentek a könyvtárba _ Altona pedig megint csodaszép volt, meg is győztem Bencét, hogy jövő  héten elkísér, és akkor az estét ott töltjük az öbölparton sétálgatva_

_tegnap elmentünk úszni egy csöppet aztán meg szaunáztunk is _ az egyik nagyon szuper dolog abban, hogy diák vagyok, az, hogy egyes uszodákba ingyen mehetek be, amit most ki is használtunk már az első uszodával _ tele volt gyerekekkel, meg kényelmesen uszikáló emberekkel, de akkoris egy jó kezdés volt_

_ma pedig mentem megint a templomba ami szintén tele volt gyerekekkel, akik táncoltak, énekeltek, olvastak, szuper volt _ délután, pedig, találkoztunk egy régi baráttal, Amélievel _ a családja 205ben volt kedves, és befogadott 2 hónapra Németországban mert a családunk nagyon kedves német barátja, Wolfgang, megkérte őket _ a családom úgy gondolta, hogy gyarkoljak németet és készüljek föl a nyelvvizsgámra, ezt a legjobban anyanyelvi környezetben lehet _ Amélie egykorú velem, így hát az ő nyakába varrtak (szegény) _ nagyon kedves volt akkor is de sajnos nem tartottuk a kapcsolatot _ mindenesetre, Wolfgang ráébredt arra, hogy most mind a ketten Melbourne-ben vagyunk, úgyhogy szólt mind a kettőnknek _ így aztán ma találkoztunk _ nagyon jó volt látni őt, elmentünk inni egy kávét és szuperül bszélgettünk _ sajnos egy óra után indulnia kellett, mert teremfocizik, és bajnokságban vesznek részt és egy meccsre kellett menjen, de abban megegyeztünk, hogy legközelebb szól ha meccsük lesz, és elmegyünk szurkolni neki: nagyon különböző szurkoló gárdája lesz (Bencével együtt), de legalább olyan lelkes
