| _after the university, I was working, but after a while, I started thinking about researching something useful _ researching the topic itself was an exhausting procedure, but in 2018 it was crystal clear: though I long the history and past of architecture, I would rather occupy myself with its future _ thus smart cities, and The application of “smart” design for future “smart” cities has become my research topic (in case someone is more interested in this, just let me know because I can talk for hours about this but I can talk for hours about this, be warned) _ With this topic I have reached out to many universities abroad, looking for professors and environments where this topic can cherished/nourished/flourished _ During the search, I found Australia to be progressive regarding this issue due to their own experiences on their skin and they would like to solve the problems _ the application process was long enough (not just for one professor and university) but finally Associate Professor Jeni Paay at Swinburne University of Technology notified me after many pre-qualification rounds that she is happy to take the supervisor role because the topic is interesting and she is curious where it might lead _ so I filled the official application papers and sent them in, afterwards, waiting, waiting, and more waiting _ fortunately, at the end of June I was officially informed that I got the offer and in case I agree I could start in August _ I agreed but we had to arrange things thus August changed for September _ therefore, Ben and I closed a lot of things in Budapest, said goodbye to everyone we could in person, packed our things and started our journey_ | _az egyetem után sokáig dolgoztam, azonban egy idő után szerettem volna valami kutatást is csinálni, méghozzá valami hasznos témában _ a téma kutatása már önmagában is egy nagyon hosszú folyamat volt, de már 2018-ban kikristályosodott, hogy bár nagyon szeretem az építészet történelmét és múltját, a jövőjével szeretnék foglalkozni _ ezért hát végül a jövő városa (“smart city”), illetve a jövő városának tulajdonságainak átfordítása a tervezési gyakorlatba (valahogy így lehet lefordítani a címét) lett a kutatási témám (akit ennél pontosabban érdekel, szóljon, mert órákat tudok róla regélni, csak készüljön fel, hogy órákat fogok róla regélni) _ ezzel a témával házaltam elég sokat a külföldi egyetemeken, keresve olyan professzort és közeget, ahol ez a téma kivirágozhat _ Ausztráliába azért jutottam el a keresések során, leginkábbis, mert ők igen előremutatóan foglalkoznak a kérdéssel, főleg, mert a saját bőrükön érzik a változásokat, és szeretnék azokat megoldani _ sokáig tartott a felvételi folyamat (nem is csak egy egyetemre vagy egy professzorhoz), de végül a Swinburne University of Technology professzora, Jeni Paay, több körös előfelvételi után jelezte, hogy nagyon boldogan vállalná a téma vezetését, mert nagyon érdekes a téma maga, illetve hogy hova tud kifutni _ így hát beadásra került a jelentkezésem, majd jött a várakozás, meg a várakozás, meg a még több várakozás _ szerencsére azonban június végén szóltak, hogy amúgy akkor kezdhetek augusztusban, ha gondolom _ gondoltam hát, de azért el kellett egy-két dolgot intézni, így az augusztusból szeptember lett _ így hát Bencével együtt lezártunk nagyjából minden futó dolgunkat Budapesten, elköszöntünk mindenkitől, akitől csak tudtunk személyesen, összepakoltunk, és elindultunk_ |
