| _viiiiiiiiii I had my first international conference!!!! and since it is almost summer, we went to swim in the Bay, though we might have been the German tourists swimming in the Balaton lake of the Bay for this Saturday – I will explain 😀 and Christmas is coming – here not only the reindeers get scarfs but the cockatoos and kangaroos as well 😀
_the summer is really here: Ben is usually working within shorts and as far as it is possible shirtless (he has a shirt for meetings 😀 ), and I also em enjoying the warmer weather using more shorts than whole last year 😀 it is very interesting, that since I am working from home, I do not need to dress for the freezing cold office climate due to the airconditioning, but for the comfortable air at home – which is a huge difference for me 😀 although I am starting to understand why they create such a cold climate in the offices, as the weather gets warmer, it seems to be harder to start working 😀 we are not yet used to this warmth just in our holidays 😀 but we will prevail 😀 _of course, this week, we were both progressing, Ben had another breakthrough and additional possible side project meetings to keep him entertained, while I had two more interviews and reading a lot, but this week’s big event for me was the ASA conference _ this was the first international conference I published in, and it was just a great experience _ it was organised by a New-Zealander university this year and they did a marvelous job for switching everything to online during the whole preparation phase, so kudos for them _ so it was a great experience from the organising side, but it was also exciting from the “I put my research out into the whole world, please react to it” point of view as well, and it seemed to interest people 😀 which was the greatest accomplishment for this occasion I could have asked for 🙂 _ _and yesterday we went for a swim in the ocean _ last week when we were walking on Phillip Island, the weather was not optimal to run into the ocean, so we decided to make up for it this week _ so although the weather was not really sunny, the temperature was perfect for us to go and swim as a first occasion of this summer _ we went to the shore, and it was a little strange, because only 2-3 people were in the water, everyone else was on the paths walking in jackets 😀 but regardless, we put down our beach towels and went into the water 😀 it was not warm, but since we are using cold water every morning for shower, it was warmer than that 😀 so we really enjoyed it _ an additional fun point was after the swim that we were chilling on the sand in our swimsuits while the locals were still walking next to us in jackets 😀 so that is how we became the Germans of the Bay 😀 (Hungary has a lake called Balaton which is a popular holiday destination for the German tourists due to many historical reasons, and the local at Balaton are not swimming but the Germans are when the weather is dreadful because for them it is the better season 😀 )_ _sorry, this week I was lazy with the pictures, so there are none_ |
_viiiiiiiiiii, megvolt az első nemzetközi konferenciám!!! és mivel itt már majdnem nyár van, elmentünk úszni az öbölbe, bár valószínűleg emiatt mi lettünk az öböl balatoni német turistái szombaton – majd később elmagyarázom 😀 meg érkezik a karácsony, és itt nem csak a rénszarvasok kapnak sálat, hanem a kakaduk és kenguruk is 😀
_a nyár tényleg megérkezett: Bence általában sortban dolgozik, és ha teheti, póló nélkül (van egy meetinges pólója 😀 ), és én is nagyon élvezem a melegebb időjárást, már most többet volt rajtam sort mint tavaly egész nyáron 😀 nagyon érdekes, hogy mióta itthon dolgozom, nem kell az irodai légkondis tundrára öltözködni, csak a sokkal kényelmesebb itthoni környezetre – és ez hatalmas különbség 😀 bár kezdem azt is megérteni, hogy miért csinálnak ilyen hideget az irodában; ahogy az idő melegszik, egyre nehezebb rávenni magunkat a melóra 😀 nem vagyunk még mindig hozzászokva ehhez a meleghez, amit régen csak szabadság alatt tapasztaltunk meg 😀 de túl fogjuk élni 😀 _persze a héten is haladtunk, Bencének megint volt áttörése és plusz lehetséges projekteket is szerzett magának, csak hogy meglegyen a megfelelő szórakozás, míg nekem volt 2 interjúm és olvastam egy rakatot, de a hét nagy eseménye számomra az ASA konferencia volt _ ez volt az első nemzetközi konferenciám amin előadtam és egyszerűen egy nagyon jó élmény volt _ egy új-zélandi egyetem szervezte idén és elképesztő melót csináltak az online átváltással is, úgyhogy gratula nekik _ a szervezői oldalról is jó élmény volt, de számomra izgalmas volt a “kirakom a kutatásomat a nagyvilágba, kérek rá reakciókat” oldalról is, és úgy tűnt, hogy érdekelte az embereket 😀 ami a lehető legnagyobb teljesítmény számomra 🙂 _ _végül tegnap elmentünk pancsolni az óceánba _ a múlt heti Philip Island sétán az idő annyira nem volt jó, hogy belerohanjunk az óceánba, úgyhogy úgy döntöttünk, hogy ezt most bepótoljuk _ bár az idő nem volt napos, a hőmérséklet tökéletes volt egy első úszásra az idényben _ elmentünk a partra és már az egy kissé furi volt, hogy mondjuk 2-3 ember volt a vízben kezdetben, mindenki már a parton sétált pufi kabátban 😀 de ez nem zavart minket, letáboroztunk, leterítettük a kis strand törülközőnket, majd becsattogtunk a vízbe 😀 nem volt meleg, de mivel minden reggel hideg vízben fürdünk, ahhoz képest kellemes volt 😀 úgyhogy mi nagyon élveztük _ a plusz nagyon vicces rész az volt mikor mi már a parton hesszeltünk a fürdő cuccunkban, a parton meg még mindig kabátban sétáltak a helyiek 😀 szóval így lettünk az öböl németjei 😀 (ezt a referenciát magyarul nem magyarázom el 😀 )_ _a héten meglehetősen lustán nem csináltam képeket, szóval most nincs mit nézni_ |
