_Ben had made huge progress with his tasks through learning the new language and doing his tasks _ it is always funny when he suddenly bursts out: Yes I did it!!! or he is talking about the problem during lunch, then by dinner, he figured it out and finished it already 😀 and he is so enthusiastic about the tasks and progress and ideas behind the tasks and the projects he is working on _ one meeting gave him a huge clarity regarding a background information and he was so happy that it is now clearer and he understands it and in this way it makes much more sense!!! _ additionally, this week was the Battery Investor Day for Tesla, so our conversations were also focused on this topic, which was also interesting to here what were the news and how the electric vehicle industry is doing – if you want to know more, just ask Ben, I am not qualified to talk about this more 😀 _

_in the meantime, this week was a little slower for me without huge break-through, just some meetings and preparation for next week’s conference – this will be the one when I participate as an expert _ my supervisors wished me luck 😀 but they were also very pleased that I received such an invitation _ plus, I had a discussion with another PhD student, and she was really excited about us talking, because she is doing something similar to my topic, and it is possible that we will do some stuff in the future together_

_but the week’s main event was our good deed (?) 🙂 to be honest, Ben’s heroism _ on Wednesday, I had organised an appointment for myself for my quarterly blood donation, and Ben decided to join me!!!! _ so we went in to the CBD, more than 5 km away (but this was fine, because the Red Cross is an essential service, so we didn’t break the law 😀 ), which was such an adventure in itself 😀 it was a while ago when we went for such a huge distance 😀 so we went in, and the picture of the CBD at the afternoon rush hour being almost empty was quite unnerving (there is huge scene in a very famous film, so I obviously I do not know the title, where the hero arrives to the Times Square and there is noone on the square – in the meantime, I googled: Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise, but I still haven’t watched the movie itself… and there is another movie with London being empty, the 28 days later, neither a watched movie by me…) – but we were brave and continued our journey to the Blood Donation Centre, where first we were sent away due to our too early arrival (khm, my bad…), but the second time, they welcomed us very nicely 😀 so we went through the whole procedure, when I was chit-chatting with a dog-lover nurse, while Ben was interrogated by another nice nurse with Australian accent which was a little hard to understand through the mask for him _ then, we were used as pin cushions, just kidding!!! but my assistance was a new recruit, she was being taught in – but she did a marvelous job _ Ben was examined to where to pin the needle in, and the nurse was searching, then realised what she was tapping was Ben’s artery just sticking outside from his muscles 😀 after the blood donation, the staff was really nice with Ben, they wanted to make sure that after his first donation there won’t be any issue _ so all in all, it was a good experience, not one which would be discouraging, and from now on Ben is not only my hero, but a hero in himself 🙂 though my father noted that what a waste to give the good Hungarian blood abroad 😀 _

_obviously, we had our meetings with our friends, and we were quite happy because the numbers seem to lower down so there is a chance to ease the restrictions (I am told…) _ and on Saturday, we experienced Melbourne’s weather for a year in one day: it couldn’t decide what to show, so at the end, it was raining, then sunshine, then wind, then rain, then sunshine, etc… thus we were not really doing anything outside, just chilled in our apartment 🙂

_Bence megint egy csomót haladt miközben tanulja az új nyelvet, meg persze a feladatai befejezésével _ mindig vicces, mikor hirtelen felkiállt, hogy “Igen, megcsináltam!!!” vagy ebédnél elmeséli, hogy mivel szenved, majd vacsinál mondja, hogy megoldotta 😀 és olyan lelkes tud lenni a feladatok iránt, meg a haladás, meg a projektek és a mögöttes ötletek iránt _ az egyik meeting a héten különösen felvillanyozta, mert egy dolog kitisztázódott, és plusz értelmet nyert, és nagyon örült neki, hogy megértette és így sokkal több értelme van!!! _ nem mellesleg, a héten volt az Elem Befektetői Nap a Teslánál, úgyhogy a beszélgetéseink e körül is forogtak, ami nagyon érdekes mert jó hallani, hogy az elektromos autó ipar hogy halad – aki erről többet szeretne tudni, az kérdezze Bencét, én nem vagyok qualifikálva, hogy többet mondjak 😀 _

_mindeközben, nekem egy kicsit lassabb hetem volt nagy áttörések nélkül, csak némi meetingek meg felkészülés a következő heti konferenciára – ez az, amire meghívtak, mint szakértőt _ a konzulenseim sok szerencsét kívántak 😀 de azért nagyon is örültek ennek a fejleménynek _ meg volt egy megbeszélésem egy másik PhD diákkal, akinek a témája kapcsolódik az enyémhez, és nagyon örült, hogy beszéltünk, és lehet, hogy a jövőben még csinálunk együtt is valamit_

_de a heti nagy esemény a jócselekedetünk volt 🙂 illetve, leginkább Bence hősiessége _ szerdára leszerveztem magamnak a szokásos negyedéves véradásomat, és Bence úgy döntött, hogy csatlakozik hozzám!!! _ szóval bementünk a CBDbe, több, mint 5 kmre (de mivel a Vöröskereszt létfontosságú szervnek számít, ezért nem szegtünk szabályt 😀 ) ami már önmagában egy nagy kalandnak számít 😀 már egy ideje volt, amikor utoljára elmentünk ilyen messzire 😀 szóval bementünk, és a CBD image mint egy üres tér a délutáni csúcsidőben eléggé ijesztő volt (van egy nagyon híres jelenet egy híres filmben, szóval nyilván nem tudom a címét, amiben a hős megérkezik a teljesen üres Times Square-re New Yorkban, és senki sincs ott – időközben megkerestem a google-ön: Vanília Égbolt Tom Cruise-zal, de a filmet még mindig nem láttam… meg van egy másik szintén híres film amiben London üres, de teljesen, a 28 nappal később, szintén egy olyan film, amit nem láttam…) – de mi bátrak voltunk és folytattuk utunkat a Véradó Központba, ahol először jól elküldtek minket, mert túl korán érkeztünk (khm, az én hibám…), de másodjára tárt karokkal fogadtak minket 😀 úgyhogy aztán végigmentünk a teljes folyamaton, amikor is én egy kutyaszerető ápolóval beszélgettem, míg Bencét jól kikérdezte egy másik nagyon kedves, de igen erős ausztrál akcentusú néni, akinek az érthetőségét nem segítette a maszk _ aztán jól tűpárnának használtak minket, csak viccelek!!! de a hozzám érkező személyzet épp betanuló volt, aki amúgy nagyon jó munkát végzett _ a Bencéhez érkező nővér meg egy ideig kereste Bence vénáját, amíg rá nem jött, hogy az a vastad ér ami kidagad Bence karján és már egy perce tapogatja, na az az amit keres 😀 a véradás után a személyzet nagyon kedves volt Bencével, biztosak akartak lenni, hogy nem lesz baj az első véradás után _ úgyhogy amúgy ez egy egészen jó élmény volt, nem olyan, ami elbátortalanítaná az embert, és mostantól Bence nem csak az én hősöm, hanem önmagában is hős 🙂 bár édeapám megjegyezte, hogy azt a jó magyar vért minek pazarolni külhonban? 😀 _

_persze a héten megvoltak a találkák a barátokkal is, és mindenki egészen bizakodó, mert az esetszámok csökkenni látszanak, szóval van esély a megszorítások csökkentésére (legalábbis nekem ezt mondták…) _ és szombaton a melbourne-i időjárás úgy döntött, hogy egy nap alatt bemutatja teljes éves repertoárját, így aztán először esett, aztán sütött a nap, aztán nagyon fújt a szél, meg ezek egyvelege volt egész nap… így aztán inkább itthon pihentünk 🙂
